About The 2009 Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade
The 2009 Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade will take place on Saturday, March 14 in downtown Atlanta. The 127th edition of this Parade is a family-oriented event that celebrates Atlanta’s rich Irish heritage. The Parade is staged by Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade Inc. and is an outgrowth of the 151 year old Hibernian Benevolent Society of Atlanta’s St. Patrick’s Parade. The Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Foundation augments the Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade by raising awareness and giving financial support for the treatment and research of childhood diseases. This year’s recipients include Cystic Fibrosis and St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
DiscountCall will be among the Parade’s over 200 participants, including floats, bands of every kind, military units, Bagpipe & Drum Corps, thousands of children, Irish dancers, clowns, high tech firefighting equipment, police units, drill teams, dogs, horses, antique cars, and dignitaries from Ireland.
The Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 12:00 noon, starting at Peachtree Street and Ralph McGill, proceeding down Peachtree past Woodruff Park, then left on Decatur to Pryor and right on Pryor through Underground Atlanta and the huge Underground Atlanta Festival where there will be free entertainment and vendors!
